"Friends of the Message"

Life teaches us that we need friends. As Sherlock Holmes would surely have remarked to his own dear friend: “Elementary, my dear Watson.” Consider the friendship of David and Jonathan. Jesus and his disciples. Paul and Barnabas. What do your friends mean to you? Have you been blessed with a “friend who sticks closer than a brother”? (Proverbs 18:24)
There’s a verse in the Bible I like to use when I think of the ministry of Messenger Films: Like the cold of snow in the time of harvest are faithful messengers to those who send them; they refresh the spirit of their masters. (Proverbs 25:13) Messenger Films is about communicating God’s messages to humanity. And because God loves the ENTIRE world, he wants to communicate with everyone! Actually, God is in contact with us all the time, and in beautiful, wonderful ways – from the grandeur of nature to the innocence of children. Above all, he has communicated to us through the sufferings of his Son, who has “left us an example that we might follow in his steps.” (1 Peter 2:21) We want to be effective and faithful messengers at Messenger Films, but we know we can never reach our full potential with existing resources. We need friends of the message!
When I pray for Messenger Films, I ask him to bring people together who will share our vision and help us succeed in our mission. Yeah, I’m looking for friends. Personally, as a writer/director, I believe God has given me stories for specific films that he wants me to make with skill, power, and anointing. These films will be his “messages” to the world. But I can’t do this on my own. I don’t even want to try and do it on my own. Filmmaking is a collaborative effort.
By the same token, we all realize that friendship is never contrived. God forbid! As children teach us, friendship is spontaneous, emotional, and spiritual. There is determination and purpose in friendship. So, here’s my pitch. Take a “look” at our ministry. Observe us from a safe distance. Pray about whether or not you have any “part or lot in this matter.” (Acts 8:21) Then sign up! Communicate with us! Tell us your heart, your dreams, your vision! (Please note: some affinity with filmmaking would be nice.)
We need prayer. We need finances. We need expertise. We need friends! Get in touch with us. I would like to share our vision with you in greater detail, and even send you copies of our films. I can’t send them for free, but you can consider how you might help offset the costs. God has stories to tell. He has news to share. He seeks messengers who represent his character and impart his compassion, messengers who embrace rather than condemn, who are patient with every man, and follow the “example of Christ”.
